There's an added layer to that when considering that overall modapi is basically an approved mod for the game that simply has the ability to be misused (the devs even have a bug report forum specifically for modapi issues, they don't mind it overall), so unlike some other anti-cheats, the whole "scan game files for issues" thing wouldn't be the best fix. It won't stop the problem completely but it would make it slightly harder, and the more difficult it is the fewer who will actually bother to pursue it. Yeah, someone will always find a way to bypass it, keyword there *someone*, not everyone.

James has a point, they do have other things to focus on beyond an anti-cheat system right now.but I don't think that it should mean they never bother at all. Police is also useless because someone always find the way to break the laws so you have my vote if you want to shut down the police. I agree there's always someone who find the way to cheat so let's just give up and do nothing. So by then, they have done all the damage or fun they wanted to. Even with VAC bans as good as they are, they sometimes give cheaters up to a month before a mass banning event.
#THE FOREST MODS IN MULTIPLAYER GAME SOFTWARE#
I play some games that have as many as three anti-cheat software and still there are occasional cheats and a lot more where u can use free / trial accounts lol. Thats why u see other anti-cheats have millions of updates over years, as they are always one step behind. there is nothing they can do except waste money if they did try. So either use the unofficial anti-cheat mod (dont know how good it is) or good luck waiting for cheat / mod free games. Im yet to see a game in my vast multiplayer selection (not just on steam) that guarantees no cheaters ever. Originally posted by Jamesfle:Anything that Endnight Games did implement, players ALWAYs find a way around it and spread the fix to others. The lazy people who want everything handed to them can just use console commands anyway, its seriously just as easy (surprised you can even disable those). This game seriously needs to work out the kinks in multiplayer or add some anti-cheat to combat unwanted mods/hacks. they type something and it seems as if you typed it yourself, and you cannot ban them either because they do not show up in the playerlist. Lastly (I could go on however) there are people who somehow disguise themselves as you in chat Ie. Or they just decide to spawn 10000 bombs and crash your server because all the trees on the map just got blown up. What really sucks is when someone comes in and is invisible, flying around throwing bombs or just harassing you. People like that aren't even too terribly bad and I can tolerate them to some degree if they are the type that won't use them if told not to. Even if he had one previously, which he never even went to an area with turtles btw, two would've confirmed my suspicions because you can only hold one turtle shell at a time. I guess while he thought I wasn't looking he built both of them instantly, where'd he get the turtle shells? Banned.

I thought it was nothing at first, set down some more blueprints this time for two water collectors. I lay some blueprints down for some stick holders and go out to get some food, come back and they are completed. example: Guy comes in my server and seems pretty cool, we play for a bit and get to building a house and he is cutting trees etc playing it off. People sometimes try to be sneaky with them and use them lowkey but its still blatantly obvious. It takes completely away from the survival aspect (Its a survival game) especially when people erect castles instantly with mods (x2 Isn't there a creative mode people can play on nowadays?).

Let me start by saying I understand there are people that use them to do their "SUPER KOOL EXTREME 69 STORY CASTLE BUILDS" and yada yada, and thats cool (there is a creative mode though, and console commands).
